ELANA CHOI Founder of Hydrangea Bakehouse
I believe that everything you enjoy doing in life deserves to be lived out with purpose and passion - and for me, that purpose is found in the art of baking.
My baking journey started during COVID-19, when my curiosity in cooking and baking started to grow. I remember being captivated by seeing chefs and contestants on cooking shows, such as The Great Canadian Baking Show, work with their hands, fueled by a pure passion to simply create stunning, delicious desserts.
Over the six years of my journey, I learned a multitude of techniques, skills, and concepts that hooked me into this craft even deeper. To create with the intent of love and purpose has always been a value I carry in my baking every day.
I started Hydrangea Bakehouse in the summer of 2025 with a simple idea: to turn my love for baking into something I could build and share with others.
I originally focused on building Hydrangea Bakehouse as a small, home-based baking business, developing recipes and baked goods to sell while learning about branding, marketing, and what it takes to build a business.
Later on, I realized this no longer worked in favor of me and my true goals. Hoping for a new momentum, I pivoted rather than ending my journey. In 2026, Hydrangea Bakehouse evolved into a baking and entrepreneurship platform where I share recipes, document experiments, and explore the process of building a structured business from the ground up.
Hydrangea Bakehouse is an opportunity for me to explore what happens when something you enjoy becomes a real project that requires planning, creativity, and commitment.
